Wreck dive (sunken ship / aircraft)
A wreck is a sunken vessel or aircraft that sits on the seabed. Divers visit these sites to explore man-made structures and see fish that live inside them.
You find wrecks at many depths. Many popular sites like the USAT Liberty in Luzon sit at 18 m, while deeper wrecks require advanced training because the visibility often drops below 10 m. These sites change over time. Rust and coral growth alter the shape of the metal after several decades.
Watch your buoyancy carefully. It is easy to hit a sharp edge or stir up silt if you do not control your position near the hull. I once saw a diver lose all visibility in seconds because they kicked too close to a sandy wreck floor in Cebu back in 2017.
