Twinset / doubles (tech)
Also: double tank, manifold
Twinset refers to two cylinders joined by a central manifold. This setup allows you to breathe from both tanks through one regulator system. Divers use this configuration because it offers significantly more gas than a single 12 L tank. You will see this gear in decompression diving or deep wreck exploration where gas volume is critical. Many technical divers choose 12 L or 15 L cylinders for these missions.
It increases your total air supply while providing redundancy. If one regulator fails, you can isolate the leaking side by turning a valve. This process is vital during deep dives in places like Anilao. Do not forget to check your manifold valve position before every descent. A common mistake is neglecting the O-rings on the manifold connection points. Always carry a spare kit for these specific parts.
