Sidemount (twin tanks side-mounted)

Sidemount is a configuration where you carry two cylinders under your arms. This setup replaces the standard single tank on your back. You use this method because it allows for better mobility in narrow spaces. I used sidemount during a wreck penetration in Anilao in 2018 to squeeze through a 45 cm gap. It is common in cave diving and technical wreck exploration. Most divers prefer it when they need to manage redundant gas supplies.

Check your regulator hoses often. A common mistake is letting the tanks swing too far forward during your descent. This shift changes your buoyancy and makes swimming difficult. Always ensure your weight distribution stays balanced so that you do not struggle with trim.
