Frog kick (silt-free finning)
The frog kick is a way to swim using your legs in a circular motion. It looks like a frog swimming through a pond. This technique is vital when you dive near the bottom because it prevents silt clouds. I used this constantly in Anilao during 2018 to avoid blinding my buddy. If you use a standard flutter kick on a sandy ledge, you will ruin visibility for everyone. You should keep your knees bent and push your fins outward before snapping them together. This method works best with long, stiff fins. Avoid kicking too hard near the sand. Small, controlled movements keep the water clear.
